California. That's my dream. That's my nightmare.
For one week during the glorious 2001 California autumn, we rode, ate, slept, then ate some more. All the time, all at our leisure. How decadent. Anyway, I recorded what I could of the faces and places that was the Colorado HeartCycle California Dream Tour, a mostly delightful spin in and around Corte Madera, Healdsburg, Mendocino, Ukiah, and Calistoga. Mostly. |

The Cycling Cavalcade Continues! Stop already?!?
A mishmash of photos taken from disparate and, in some cases, desperate sources. Drumroll, please. The Tour de BFA, "gold country" style; Intimidator Loose Fit SystemTM, an illustrated guide. Duh, what else?; Palomares: is it really so hard to focus?; Uber-Ass: a photographic essay by various guest contributors. |

Vaya Con Carne! Big C Returns!
What is it with these professional athletes? They put their left foot in and they put their left foot out of retirement like they're doing the hokey pokey. Anyway, on with the show. Big C returns to his greatest love...tight, nut-hugging lycra. Ha. Act now and get bonus pictures from San Felipe-Willow Springs-Almaden. |

Assault on Knight's Ferry Sat, Apr 14 2001
About once a year we schlep out to the pancake, known as Modesto, to ride with our "Diesel" friend. So, what happened this year? Nothing much I guess. Just a roll from Salida to Knight's Ferry and back under azure skies, over smoothly paved backroads with nary a hill, and a BBQ finish. See for yourself. |

Assault on Mt. Hamilton Sat, Mar 31 2001
They say you never forget your first time. I recall mine. Awwww, yeah. Lots of huffing, puffing, perspiration, and snot. Yep, breaking one's (Mt. Hamilton) cherry can be a memorable experience. Why, I recall my friend Ming's first crawl up the climb. Ugly. But that's not important right now. Well, this was supposed to be ostensibly about Paul's virgin ride, but I got carried away. |

Assault on Palomares, Dec 17 2000
I'd like to think of this pictorial as short and sweet. But in the cold light of morning I've realized it's just short. So, without further ado...Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip...Five passengers set sail that day, for a three hour tour, a three hour tour...Actually, for some of our original passengers a three hour tour...well, let's just say they should've been so lucky. |
